Jinn, Sihr and Spiritual Protection
The subject of Jinn, Sihr and Ruqyah is often surrounded by confusion, fear, misinformation and cultural misconceptions. What does Islam actually teach us about these matters, and how should a Muslim approach them?
Join us at Ad-Duha Institute for The World of Ruqyah, an informative session delivered by Mufti Ismail ibn Nazir Satia, Integrative Counsellor and Raqi.
This session will explore the world of Ruqyah from an Islamic perspective, helping attendees develop a balanced and informed understanding rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
The evening will explore topics including:
- Understanding Jinn and Sihr – what we know about them from the Islamic sources
- What is Ruqyah? – its purpose and place within Islam
- Spiritual protection – practical ways of protecting ourselves and our families
- The Qur’an and Sunnah – authentic adhkar, duʿas and practices for protection
- Common misconceptions – separating Islamic teachings from superstition and cultural beliefs
- Recognising when to seek help – approaching concerns responsibly and avoiding unnecessary fear or assumptions
- Maintaining a balanced approach – strengthening our relationship with Allah while taking appropriate practical means
The aim of the session is not to create fear or fascination around the unseen, but to provide clarity, knowledge and practical guidance, helping Muslims understand these subjects within their proper Islamic framework.
The event is open to brothers and sisters and will be available both onsite and online, allowing those unable to attend in person to benefit from the session.
